Tired of reading articles for that project or paper? Try a video instead! The Learning Resource Center database Films On Demand has expanded. Students and Faculty now have access to nearly 10 thousand high-quality educational film clips in the areas of criminal justice, health and medicine, various sciences, business and finance, communication, and more.

Create an account and save your favorites, or create a customized playlist for easy access. Films On Demand can be accessed from the orange All Databases tab on the LRC site. Once there, you will need to create your own account, and you are in! Happy viewing.

Students can now "Chat with a Librarian" via reference chat service on Saturday mornings and Sunday evenings!

Chat reference hours will be as follows:

Beginning June 30, students will be able to "Chat with a Librarian" via reference chat service on Saturday mornings and Sunday evenings!

Chat reference hours will be as follows:

Chat Reference Available April 8, First Sunday of the Quarter

Chat Reference will be available this Sunday, April 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come and ask your questions and bring your research needs during the first Sunday of the Spring Quarter.

LRCs Closed/Chat Not Available, Friday April 6

Campus LRCs will be closed, and virtual Chat Reference will not be available, on Friday, April 6 for the Good Friday holiday.
Most campuses will remain closed until Monday, April 9.
Chat Reference will be available again on Saturday, April 7, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 8, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Chat will resume regular schedule on Monday, April 9.

Chat Available Sunday March 18

The LRC reference service, Chat with a Librarian, will be available on Sunday, March 18 from 1pm to 6pm (Eastern) for Finals Week.
Please stop by and seek help as you finish up your coursework for the Winter quarter.

All LRCs closed for Presidents Day, February 20th

All Harrison LRCs will be closed on Monday, February 20th, in observation of President's Day. There will be no Librarian Chat services available that day. The LRCs will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, February 21st.

Chat available Sunday 2/12

Special Sunday Chat session is available on February 12th (Mid-Term Starts!).  Please come online and chat with a librarian about your research or class assignments.

A librarian will be available between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

New eBook Database Available for All Harrison Students

Harrison students, staff, and faculty now have access to Books 24/7 IT Pro. This database provides access to over 10,000 eBooks for IT & computer-related subjects and includes titles for Media/Gaming, Logistics, Project Management, Healthcare and other relevant subjects.

To access these full-text eBooks, go to the All Databases tab on the LRC website (www.harrison.edu/lrc) and click on Books 24/7 IT Pro link on the right-hand side (see image below).

New Tutorial Series Available on the LRC Website

The LRC website has a new tutorial series available: Secrets of Research Revealed! This series focuses on providing targeted help to students in several areas of research. Currently available are tips on using search engines more effectively, utilizing the LRC help services, and information about how to use the LRC Research Guides.

To access these tutorials, click on the "Video Tutorials" tab at the top of the LRC website (www.harrison.edu/lrc). Then click on your desired Secrets of Research Revealed tutorial. (see image below) Check back often, because there are more titles in the series scheduled for release! 

Indy East LRC reduced hours this week-

Because one of the librarians at the Indy East LRC will be away on Wednesday and Thursday, February 8 and 9, the LRC hours will be shortened.

We will be open from 8 am to 5:30 pm on those days; the LRC will be open regular hours on all other days this week.

LRCs Closed for MLK Day 1/16

The Harrison College LRCs will be closed on Monday, January 16 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Live Chat Reference will also be unavailable on this day.

Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, January 17.

Chat with a Librarian this Saturday and Sunday

Happy New Year!

The Saturday Chat with a Librarian hours have changed for the new Winter 2012 quarter:
Saturdays will now have a librarian available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This Sunday will also feature a special Chat with a Librarian session because it is the first week of the quarter.  A librarian will be available from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday January 8.
